Week one AD (after deployment!)

So Monday came and went. It was finally D Day. The dreaded time to watch the ship that carries my husband to disappear over the horizon and settle in to life as a 'single parent' and embark on the mission in hand!

In all fairness I've been doing okay so far, don't get me wrong I hate him not being here and my daughter asking where daddy's toothbrush has gone broke my heart but for some odd reason I didn't want to stuff my face with copious amounts of Ben and Jerry or crisps.

The whole week has been like this. I had my day of sorrow and mourning on Monday, that first night alone is always a killer I don't sleep properly and I woke feeling pretty pants to be fair. But I pulled on my big girl pants -literally and metaphorically- and made my way to the gym for my second freebie pt session. I have been set a challenge for march.
I have to give up bread and embark on the fitness challenge.
I had to see how fast I could cycle 5k, how many bench steps I could do on each leg in a minute, how long I could plank for and how many push ups I could do (that was truly pitiful!)
She then weighed and took my measurements and I now have until April 6th to better every one of the scores I have, lose half a stone AND shrink my measurements. If I don't I'm in for some kind of sadistic beasting I think!

Feeling sore but motivated for the rest of the week I've carried on. Not eating bread and yesterday was my first weigh of my deployment diet. I lost

6 and a half pounds

Woooooooooooop go me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smashing my weekly goal of 2 and a half so I've put myself ahead a bit already! Happy days!

Ready to begin week two.

This week started with me staying at a friends and involved Pizza and wine. But on the plus side it was a shared pizza and a bottle of wine so could have been a lot worse!!!!! Bring on the next week weigh! I've told my consultant I want to lose 3lbs this week.

Wish me luck!

Day one week one

Well that's it all back and re registered with slimming world. Although hubby doesn't officially deploy until Monday, he's Weekend duty this weekend so thought I'd get a few days head start.
I was shocked at how much affect about 5 weeks of "it's my last *insert food group/restaurant/drink/takeaway* can do but it's all fresh and shiney new ready for my task ahead.
I had a little chat with my consultant and we decided to settle on an interim target if 6 stone off in the time I have totally do able, I think it works out about 2 and a half pounds a week which is a healthy amount!
I'm off to take a picture and measurements to put in my diary!

I've actually spent a Friday after weigh in not actually going over my syns either! Check me out!

So stay tuned and see how I get on!

Tuesday, 24 February 2015

Hello!

Hi everyone,  it's been a looooooong time since I've blogged but I thought as I'd had a fair new followers on my page I thought I'd say hi and introduce my new mission!

I've had so much going on since my last post and a stupidly busy year has caused a big old weight gain and the need to find a new challenge for me.

So hubby is deploying yet again, 35 weeks this time and when he returns we want to try for baby number two, however the weight I am now it's not possible and I don't want to be this heavy as I don't want a repeat performance of my last pregnancy and birth.
It's also my 30th birthday in November and I want to be a fitty at 30 NOT a fatty!

So my mission as I have chosen to accept it is....

*** 35 weeks to lose AT LEAST 70lbs ***

It's still a healthy weight loss and would put my in good stead for getting towards a healthy weight, I'd still have a bit to go but hey its a start right?!

I'll not be blogging every night food diaries and the like but ill post something most days.

Weigh in will be Friday morning (fresh start at slimming world again)

I will also be gymming as often as possible but at least twice a week for a couple of hours at a time and I've also got wii and dvds and I've just purchased a hula hoop..... stay tuned for how much damage I can do there lol!

So stick with me and see how I get on. I'll take measurements and a picture after my first official weigh but I won't post them until I've completed my 35 weeks.

Thanks for reading xx

Why is this so hard?

I have been on a "diet" of some sort for most of my adult life, whether it be shakes, calorie counting, skipping meals, starvation (that didnt last very long though!) I binged, I tried making myself sick, only ate vegetables, the list is endless and has got me no where.

I have always been the "Fat Friend", granted I dont think any of my true close friends today would ever judge me on my size and my husband loves me for who I am, I've been at my biggest with him and smallest, he has never put me down or told me I'm fat, he's always been supportive of whatever fad I'm doing at the time but I've been ridiculed on nights out by strangers many a time and it knocks my confidence.
In fact my lowest point I had had my daughter about 5 weeks before and was in the middle of that sleep deprived, hormonal, first time mum stage, I had my best friend down for the weekend and we were going to the beach for the day. I pulled up at a petrol station, queued and when the guy in front looked like he was waiting for a different pump, I went to the one next to it, at which point he got out his car and started swearing and screaming at me about how he was waiting and I pushed in, now normally if I had been spoken to like a human being instead of screamed and ranted at, I would have pulled back out, apologised and let him go infront of me, but instead I sucked up a breath and started filling the car, at which point I had just about every single "fatism" thrown at me and apparently my need was greater than him for fuel because I had to get my fat arse to McDonalds, oh no wait they dont have an all you can eat there and other such delightful stuff.

I dont even like McDonalds!

At this point my friend was trying to launch herself at the guy and I finished paying and drove off in floods of tears, I had never been so humiliated in my life. The whole forecourt had witnessed it and I was mortified.

It has stayed with me to this day and probably always will. Why do people feel that its okay to abuse and publically humiliate others? Infact just last week I got told by a passing car whilst on my bike I needed to "peddle faster chunky!"

It's been a real struggle recently and my body just doesn't want to play ball. I'm not going to lie its upsetting me a lot and getting me down.
I either dont lose anything or gain, its a mystery as to why.
Ive seen my extremely helpful doctor who asked me if I was losing inches, to which I replied I had gone from a 22 to a 16/18 depending on where I shop, after my gain over last few weeks its more 18 again though :( and she basically didnt know what my problem was. How did she not get the fact that yay I've lost inches but theres still a lot of me and why the hell dont the friggin numbers change?!?! surely you lose dress sizes you should lose weight eventually! She did after a lot of begging do a blood test and everything there was A-OK.
I've tried adding in exercise, I've tried cutting out exercise, I've tried small plates, I've tried small meals, I've tried low syns, I've tried all my syns......I've tried calorie counting on apps such as My Fitness Pal, I dont even really drink anymore. I literally want to pull my hair out!!!! why cant I lose weight!?!?

I did SW before my daughter for about 18 months while trying to get pregnant as I think I knew deep down my weight was hindering our success concieving, sure enough I lost 5 and a half stone and TAAA DAAAA! we fell pregnant. So why is that since having my daughter its such a slow process, I go for weeks, months even, not losing anything, its soul destroying. Putting the effort in and getting nothing to show for it. Its taken me 2 and a half years to lose 3 stone. Its rediculous. I have seen people in my group lose 3 times that much and be at target. Its not fair. I just wish that I could get a definitive reason as to why my weight has come to a standstill with still so far to go, dont get me wrong though I dont begrudge people in their journeys by any means (little jealous maybe!) I would love to be that inspirational story that everyone wants to follow and support in, not gonna happen like this though is it ?! HA HA.

What if this is the reason though yet again we struggle to conceive? Its a harsh but true reality that may be the problem, but how do I go about solving it if I've tried all the solutions!

I know these posts arent like a lot of other foody blogs, but I do all my food pics on Instagram, I think I just need somewhere to vent my frustration.

Thanks for reading my ramblings, any suggestions feel free to leave a comment or go to my facebook page slimming world style and leave me some tips! I will try anything within reason.

And so she returns from outer space, well cyber space at least!

Okay so realising when I was reading back through some of my old blogs, I've not actually blogged for nearly a year... a whole year!

I bet you're all thinking "ahhh she must be nearly at target" "ooh I bet shes been really good and lost tons of weight" or more probably "ooh that's the random girl who I used to read but then she got lazy and I stopped reading as she stopped posting...."
Well you would be right in one of those, and its the last one! I'm no closer to my target and I haven't lost tons of weight either, well actually I should rephrase that slightly, I HAD lost a stone since my last post, then my husband came back from a nine month world deployment and basically I spent the weeks that followed catching up on missed takeaways and a few date nights, social events and a very wonderful all inclusive holiday to Egypt. Therefore all that stone got put back on again! This has totally annoyed me (although i enjoyed at the time!!!)

So here I am, I have been inspired by a friend of mine who has recently started blogging and my husband said to me could I not start ranting abut my weight journey on here again, I think he may be getting fed up with me banging on about it all the time!

So let me get you up to speed.....

I now have an instagram account which I use every day to instablog my food pics, my user name is

1_pound_at_a_time

I find instagram really helpful, its full of amazing ideas and food related stuffs, I've picked up some great recipes and tips etc on there, so come follow me, I follow back pretty much everyone slimming world related unless you're selling me juice diets and wraps, thats a no go lol!
Its also a great place for fitness ideas and I'm trying to incorporate some clean eating into my diet now too, some days are better than others, but there's loads of inspiration on there for that too.

I had a few months around christmas where I just couldn't focus properly on my dieting and I decided in mid jan to give it a rest for a bit, get the homecoming out the way and then knuckle back down again when things were more settled and hopefully my body will kick start itself again. That was the theory anyway.

I rejoined my SW group on the 28th March I think it was and I've lost a grand total of .....

Two pounds.........

I could cry!

It's proving to be so damn difficult to get my body to shift this lard, I could understand if I was close to target but to this date I still need to lose a staggering 5 stone and 13lbs!!!!!!!
I had lost 3 and a half stone but put a few pounds back on hence the restarting.

I'm currently in the process of trying different things to help with my weightloss, I had started the C25K podcasts the week before last, put half a pound on come weigh in, had a hissybitchfit about it and didnt go out again, buuuuut....I'm going to restart week 1 tomorrow as I actually really enjoyed it.
I'm going to cut down my caffine intake and try and drink more water and herbal teas as I drink faaaaar too much caffine.
I'm going to focus more on some clean eating and healthy fats. As SW is low fat, I thought I might invest in some healthy fats as either HE's or use my syns on things such as almond or cashew butters, coconut oil for cooking rather than frylight, flax seeds etc, as I was having a consultation not so long ago with a personal dietian and she said I dont eat enough of these types of fats and it may slow down my metabolism especially as I dont like fish. Hey it can only help I guess!

Theres one massive contributing factor in my need for weight loss..... BABIES!!!
Well, Baby, not multiple babies...eeeek! We have decided to go for another and this time I want to be more in control and be healthier, the thought of gaining 5st again scares the beejeezus out of me and I don't want the health issues that come with it, I'm STILL trying to lose the weight I gained with my daughter 3 years ago! I've been told the SPD that I suffered with first time round will undoubtably come back and quicker and worse. If i can lose weight while trying and then when I fall I hope this will help it a bit especially as I will have an extremely active 3 year old to contend with too and lounging on a sofa all day will not cut it with her!

So there we have it, I'm back and thats me pretty much up to date I think as to where I am now so I hope you come back and share my journey again and help me through it

xx

Two for the price of one tonight you lucky things!

Good evening!!
So i was a bit lacking on my blog last night, i would say its because i was really busy....but i wasnt and yet still ran out of day for writing, and work rudely got in the way this morning so not enough time to do it then, soooo you get two tonight!

Right yesterday....

Started with a big fat cuppa, followed by mango, cherries, blueberries, raspberries, ff greek yog and some sweetner. So kind of much the same as pervious days, except today came with an invite to spend the day with my sis in law and one of my nephews.
So we decided to head up to the woods and have a picnic, then let the kids wear themselves out running around....hmmmm il tell you how that worked out later lol

Picnic needing knocking up, so i threw some courgette in a pan and warmed through, stuck some lettuce in a box, topped with tomatoes, cucumber, cress, carrots, and the courgette. Toasted a heb of pitta and boiled up some Ainsley Harriott couscous for 2.5 syns. Then left the couscous and pitta behind...fail!!! So i had to have that when i got home! Oooopsy! Did remember my banana though and two bottles of diet pepsi.
Did a quick pit stop in town...another fail, im looking for a doorstop in primarni of an owly for squirts room, but they are out of stock, then i have a heartattack and realise ive dropped my phone somewhere...such a small object makes me almost have a heart attack at the thought of losing it. Thankfully i retrace my steps and find it hidden under my car...phewww. i knee it was going to be one of those days.

Finally we arrived at the woods, a little late, but enjoyed a lovely picnic. We then thought we would let the kids just walk round rather than take push chairs...epic fail there too, we had tantrums and no's, floor sitting, falling over...the list went on! We then decided to go get an icecream. Oh my god seriously what is the deal with the price of ice creams! £4 for a solero (5 syns) and a kiddies '99!!! Robbing buttholes!!!

Anyway back home for a nap for squirt and i prepped dinner whilst munching two slightly frozen ww yogurts. We were having sticky chicken (1), roasted couscous stuffed peppers, mushrooms, onion and butternut squash chips. However my squash had other plans, its was full from top to bottom with seeds and pith, no solid bits at all, i managed to get 6 french fry size off out of a whole squash...miffed was an understatement! Then to add insult to it they then burnt, so i had none!!!
Anyway the rest was nice!
Pudding was pineapple and we were done for the day

Off to work i go and stop for a quick brew at my folks (0.5) as ive decided to change my hea today and two hifis as my heb.

Lunchtime rolled round and i had a mismatch of spaghetti hoops, a mugshot and mango...bizaare right??? But it proper filled me up as i wont be eating tea til about 8pm tonight.

Finally home and i decide to try the mayflower curry sauce that all sw fb sites rave about, i have the extra hot one and it was quite mild compared to what i normally have but was tasty tho, maybe a bit heavy on 4syns though, so a treat from now on! I served it with chicken, mushrooms, onion, peas and courgette and some plain boiled rice :) and half a pitta bread for 3 syns.

Monday munchies...serious emotion munchies!!

Good morning everyone, hope the sun is shining where ever you may be :-)

Thought id blog again in the morning as it felt like i didnt stop eating yesterday or last night and i went over my syns it was that bad! However im feeling better this morning.

So shall we start with yesterdays red day with brekki...

I had a massive bowl of mango, blueberries, cherries, raspberries and strawberries with a raspberry shape yogurt frozen over the top, what better way to start the new week :-) ooo and dont forget the caffine fix too.

Now we are attempting to change our fish tank over to a gold fish tank, squirt has a complete obsession with feeding the fish at the mo, great i hear you say...except theres no fish in there that eat fish food! Just one very stubborn red tipped shark who happily grazes off the algae and wont touch the flakes :-/
So we made the decison to go goldfish styleeee instead, cheaper, easier to look after and they cant hide so well so squirt can actually see what shes feeding! So we trotted off to the pet shop and spent a good hour looking at fish, seeing if there was a fish adoption program (well there was one for furry pets so why not fish!!) watching the rabbits, rattys, gerbils and ginpiggys, yes guinea pig is far too hard for a two year old to say so they now sound like they are alcholic pigs lol. But left with just ideas.

Lunch was a rather yummy selection of tikka (0.5) and plain chicken strips, hea feta, a ww heb pitta, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, cress, carrots and 2 pints of nas squash. And half a packet of skips (2)

Then we went tesco to go and pick up a few predeployment bits, im prewriting notes for hubby, one a week so that no matter if the emails down or they have had to go off comms then he will have something from home guareented. I then spent the rest of the afternoon writing bits of info down on some of the places hes going so i can "trip advise" him in some notes, silly facts in others etc.
Whilst doing that i polished off 2 hifi heb, 2 mugs of coffee, some ham slices and a mini milk (1.5)

Then stupidly i fell foul to mindlessness and decided to eat the rest of squirts chips she had left which cost me 4 syns. I need to pour fairy liquid over her leftovers i think in future... im not even sure why i did it and to be honest i didnt even twig on the fact i was til they were gone! I blantantly wasnt hungry!

Anyway tea for me was gammon steaks with a mound of roasted veg, there was pepper, mushroom, courgette, onions, and plum tomatoes, more squash too. It went down sooo well!

More writing notes and stuff and i managed to eat a banana, a bowl of cherries and blueberries and a shape yogurt, AND a caramel freddo! (5)

It rolled past midnight and i thought it would be a good idea to go to bed, but nooo, i think im slowly depressing myself over this trip and i just couldnt sleep so shoved on an episode of made in chelsea....and found myself with a packet of ringos (3.5) and a slice of bread (5) silly silly girl!!!! Its definitely emotional eating and something i need to get under control before hubs actually goes or in 9.5 months time i will be the size of a elephant.

Sunday Lazy Day :-)

So im writing this monday morning woopsy, but i just didnt have time last night, we were over my folks and by the time i got in it was bed time as hubby had to be up stupid early this morning (and succeeded in waking me up as well)

So yesterday was an extra easy day for me, and actually a good day, thats two days in a row which is a revelation to me, and todays shaping up to be ok as well.

We started off the day with a big fat grill up. Two tesco healthy living sausages, which were the 1/2 syns ones, bacon medallions, mushrooms, small tinned tomatoes, 1/2 small can beans, a red onion and a big fat cuppa! It was the perfect way to start a sunday morning and i really do look forward to having one.

After a quick shower and construction of my lunch we were off to my mum and dads for the day. I took my lunch up with me as my mum usually does goregous crusty white rolls, or naughty stuff for lunch so figured doing that id avoid temptation!
And i was right, white rolls and macoys crisps (my fave!) Vs my prawn salad with prawn cocktail hoops and crosses and a ww lemon tart yogurt.... phew prior preps meant a good lunch for me! However i was mighty disppointed with the crisps, the roast beef and salt and vinegar ones are absolutely lush, the prawn cocktail ones were a complete letdown...seems to be the theme of trying new stuff this week....not at all prawny more like tomato sauce flavoured!!! This makes me very very sad! :-( so i had a slice of garlic sausage to get rid of the taste for a syn instead lol.
I also added in a pint of nas squash and a couple of glasses of diet coke.

Afternoon snackage consisted of two hifi lights, one rocky road and one caramel and a cuppa while hubby and my bro were out playing golf. Few runs around in the garden and squirt playing on her new slide i needed warming up and that hit the spot.

I then had to make squirts tea, (ours was going to be cooked too late past her teatime) tonights experiment following on the success of the wiggly spaghetti yesterday i thought we would try gammon carbonara with homemade cheese sauce. My first ever attempt of homemade sauce! Lovely butter, cheese, milk and flour...opposite of sw friendly!!! But good for squirt who needs to put on a bit of weight after bein so ill, theres not many two year olds that could fit in to 9-12 clothes....
However i confess to trying a teaspoon to make sure it was cheesey enough so im hazarding a guess at 3syns. Bloomin lovely if i may say so myself! The fact that it took her nearly three hours of grazing on it to eat it i didnt take personally lol. Far too many other distractions to eat all in one go!

Now all i could smell was the slow roasting of a gorgeous leg of lamb in the oven, served up with brocoli, carrots, peas, parsnips, roastys in frylight, and 2 syns of gravy. It was gorgeous, i do love a good roast at my mums she has a bit of a talent in the kitchen even if im a bit biased!

Two hours catch up with Revolution and two pints of water later and it was time to go home, i decided i was going to end my night with some strawberries and cherries with a raspberry shape yog over as i needed something sweet, the choc cravings were poking through and this was a lot better of a choice!

Finally it was bed time and the start of a new week again...where is the time going!?!

Hey Hey Im Back!

Hello my lovelies, im finally back and my feet are firmly on the sw wagon!

So, i feel the need to kind of explain where i have been, no not on some tropical island sunnying myself or a world tour, or even on holiday! Ive literally been ill in some shape or form for the last 3 weeks. Little lady decided to pick up a very nasty sickness and poor tummy bug, and was ill for about a week, a week of sleepless nights, vomitting, washing, disgusting nappies, washing, disinfecting, washing and more washing! Infact if any of you have shares in Ariel or Lenor then the rise in the price of them is down to me! My tumble dryer and washing machine were positively glowing! Then halfway through the week i had the joys of joining her as well as the majority of my family as well (i was not very popular!)
Then we both picked up colds after that too, which is still hanging around but i cant sit idly by and pile back on the weight.
Now most people i know get D&V tend to lose weight...my poor bro lost two stone....but not me! After nearly two weeks of either not eating and drinking or only being able to eat toast, i then went through a stage of just wanting stodge, lots of pasta and potatoes, not so good for me as my body cant handle to many carbs.
So after one missed group last week for fear of passing on germs and killing off people i finally returned this week and faced a 2lb gain...not horrific as i was expecting alot more, however disappointing as i was just 1/2lb away from that shiney purple 3 stone award, now i have fallen back to 2.5lbs...doh!!!!!
So i finished my friday up with a big food shop and my fridge is now full of yummy goodness and i am back in the game (after a chow mein and homemade sw spring rolls and a new muller fudge dessert..totally not worth 5 syns by the way...followed by a migrain??? Seriously i just want a day feeling normal!)

So on to today...... a day 100% on extra easy plan

Brekki today was a gorgeous concoction of fresh and my new love of frozen fruit. There was mango, strawbs, raspberries, blueberries, grapes and kiwi to name a few. The coldness of the fruit slightly freezes the yogurt i put on it and turns it to a fruity icecream. I used a ww strawberry tart yogurt and had a big cuppa as well. Delish and really filling.

A quick shower and change and we disappeared into town to hunt down some summer clothes for hubbys upcoming deployment :-( still in denial! Had a good wander round and browsed loads of shops but nothing really caught our eye so we headed home. A nice 3.5miles of body magic thrown in there :-)

Lunch was a rather yum salad of rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, red cabbage, alfalfa shoots, lentil and pea shoots, grilled aubergine and farmfoods chicken tikka strips (0.5 syns) left over syn free pasta and a bottle of diet coke. And two wotsits 0.5 syns

After squirts nap we went to B&M  as a new one has just opened near us and i hear so many people raving about it on various fb sw groups but personally i cant see what all the fuss is about, all ours had was loads of cheap chocolate, not really very sw friendly, but i did pick up some prawn cocktail hoops and crosses as i love the other two flavours, for 4 syns a bag you cant go wrong! A hop skip and a jump later we ended up in The Range, serious dangerous ground for me as i could have spent a fortune in there, however we settled for buying squirt an owly hoot hoot quilt cover and curtains for her soon to be new room...roll on pay day! Only other purchase was a bottle of diet pepsi...oh the restraint!

Back home again and ive been investigating into creative food for my little one, she eats ok most of the time but i struggle to get veggies in her, shes a massive fruit queen but you even wave a mushroom or brocoli at her and she runs a mile! So have been scouring the internet for ways of making food fun, including dying it different colours, making it into animals, different shapes, some are amazing and well beyond my talents but one i tried tonight as an edge into it was hotdog wiggles! Now normally she wont eat past bigger than macaroni so spaghetti i thought would be a challenge! U basically skewer hotdogs with raw spaghetti and then boil til cooked, afterwards they look like wiggly centipedes or aliens and you know what she ate the lot and asked for more!!! Winner!!! While she ate that i tucked in to an ice cold carling zest on my balcony for 5syns, a slice of ham and an apple...delightful

We had spicy sausage and chorizo jambalaya tonight and it was sooo good! Chopped celery, peppers, mushrooms, spring onions, asparagus, 1.5 syns worth of sausages, rice, 3syns of chorizo, veg stock, paprika and cayenne pepper, all cooked til the stock is absorbed.

Then whilst watching blades of glory (cheeeeeeeesy film!) I remembered id not had my heb so cracked open a rocky road and caramel hifi with my coffee!

Had a brilliant day on plan, heres to the start of a fab week and getting that 2.5lbs off!

A few woopsies!

I need to get some glasses or properly pre check my blogs i think, as not only did i write i had hot choc last night and not add it into my syns at the bottom (now totalling 16.5syns!) But the lovely Karen has pointed out i wrote 45g of reduced fat cheese instead of 40g which i did actually have. So im very sorry and endevour to make less mistakes in future!

Right on to today and the first day of a week of potential diet sabotage!

I got up early this morning and decided that i would have a big brekki so that i wasnt tempted by any naughties or cake or sandwiches etc when i was out later that morning, yes pre planning is the way ahead!
So i shoved in the oven a couple of the newly synned tesco healthy living sausages, the new packets have been resynned at 1/2 syn a sausage, this makes me very very happy as these are the best "diet friendly" sausages ive tasted from a supermarket. I added a couple of big mushrooms, 2 slices of fat removed bacon  small tin of beans (which i burnt....wtf???) some of these were hawked by my small person who has a bean fetish (like her mum!) and finally a handful of cherry tomatoes which exploded in the oven. All washed down with a big cuppa!

After a shower and shoving on some washing we made our way to the marina to meet a friend and her little girl for lunch, a good couple of hours was spent talking about the kids, our husbands and their ship, upcoming deployments etc with just a diet coke! I stepped away from the cakes, big brunches and garlic bread. I only fell foul of 4 small chips so im synning at 2 to be on the safe side.

After we returned home i made another coffee and heated up some of the noodles i made last night, had some raspberries and a greek muller with 2 hazelnut mikados that id frozen yesterday...nom nom nom. Oh and a couple of fruit teas to warm up!

For tea tonight i decided to treat myself to a steak as they are half price in Tesco at the mo, by the time id trimmed off all the fat i was left with possibly the smallest steak in the world but it was really tender. I had another couple of big mushrooms, a small tin of beans (see bean fetish too!) a courgette and red onion and 3 small potatoes for sw chips. It was delicious, ive not had steak in forever as its just too expensive so i only ever buy it when its on offer. So a proper luxurious tea for me! :-)

Now im going to pause my blog as ive realised ive not had my B choice today and im going to look through my sw bible to see if i have anything in the cupboards i can use instead of bread.......... stay tuned........

Eeeek excitement im going to have 55g of reduced fat houmous and some carrot sticks for my snack later oooo how exciting!! Seriously rock and roll for a saturday night! And if im living dangerously i may crack open some strawberries that need eating...yeah im living dangerous!!

Right im off to wrap presents and get an early night as i have a christening to go to in the morning woohoo! :-)

Weigh in day........

Hello all, hope ur enjoying a lovely sunny evening, i have a beautiful sunset going on behind me at the mo, hopefully red skies at night will be shepherds delight tomorrow!

Sooooo today was weigh in day for me, yet again i felt seriously nervous getting on them scales. I dont know whats gotten in to me and why im so nervous, i think its the fear of putting weight back on again this time, ive spent forever trying to lose this last half stone to get my elusive 3 stone award.
Anyway... i jump on the scales, complete with butterflies and after removing bracelets, rings, socks, and contemplating removing my bra lol (i didnt!!!) And to my shock horror i lost...

1.5lbs!! :-)

Ok so that may not be alot to some people but the fact that ive lost twice in a row is an accomplishment for me. And as id had no weigh in last week due to poorliness i thought i was in for a big old gain so that small amount was a great amount for me!

However there is a downside.....

Im now only a silly, stupid, measly, annoying half a pound away from my award. Damn it!!!!!!

However looking at this constructively i have a potential bad week coming up, lunches out, seeing friends, my dads birthday, a christening. All bad things but that half a pound i think is sticking in there to keep me from pigging out like i probably would have done if id got my award today, therefore im chosing to see the positive in this and make it a good week and get that award next week. I would have also got it exactly on my target, i wanted my award before my hubby comes home and il be seeing him come home next friday as well.

Well on to food today and a green day for me.

I was starving after group as i never have brekky before hand, so my first food of the day was a mugshot and packet of french fries and a big cuppa.

Then it was meal planning time while squirt napped away peacefully in her room.
While doing this i had a warbie sandwich thin toasted in the oven with a HEA of cheese, onion and tomato and some baked beans.

Shopping was fairly stressfree this week and for once i managed to get everything on my list, i also had a ton of vouchers and my staff discount card which meant i got £90 worth of shopping for £60 absolute bargain and my fridge, freezers and cupboards are full to the brim of yummy sw friendly foods for me.

Tea tonight im making the singapore noodles from the Tastes of Asia and some of my cannaloni spring rolls as well, im also treating myself to 4 syns of prawn crackers! Perfect fakeaway for a friday night. It was really tasty and im stuffed.

Ive got some cherries and raspberries defrosting for later and im going to top it with some fromage frais and have a hot choc with it too.

Just a quick one tonight! :-)

Evening all! Firstly thanks to everyone whos following on my fb page, ive been very priviledged to hit 100 likes which is amazing! Who would have thought when i started doing this that id have that kind of an audience...not me!!!

Today has been such a busy and head fluffy day full of meetings and work books that i just want to go to sleep, so its just a short one tonight as i dont really have much to ramble about to be fair! Ive not even really eaten alot due to these workshops.

Breakfast was a bagel and quark topped with cherry tomatoes and a cuppa ... think it was vanilla this time!

Time for work and after what seemed like a life time of trying to implant information in my extremely holey head it was lunch time! One small wholemeal pitta, feta and a pack of french fries, i couldnt even drag myself to go on shop floor to buy lettuce and more tomatoes!

Back out to work and a bit more training shoved in for extra measure and it was hometime.

After picking up squirt, bathing and bedding her i sat down to peruse fb whilst eating an absolutely vile ready meal of chicken and pasta. How u can screw that meal up is beyond me! Hot choc is on the way and so is my bed and its not even dark! How rock and roll am i!?!?

Please pray to the SW gods that i maintain or have a gain under 2lbs tomorrow!

Hopefully a more interesting blog for you tomorrow i do aplogise.

Strange people with wierd food ideas?!

Late one from me today! But hey its a wednesday and im actually blogging for a change!

So work day for me today but i have been really good, i didnt even take my purse to work with me, that way no spending extra money on stuff i didnt need and i actually ate the lunch i took in with me :-) check me out!!

Soooo i started this morning off with a bacon butty and a lemon and green tea, then it was a quick hop, skip and jump into the shower and get packed up to go drop squirt off at my folks for the day, a naughty cuppa (sshhhhhhh!!) And a quick natter later and i had to go, now i woke up in a proper narky and sarky mood today so thought i was in for a crappy day at work but ive had quite a few laughs with the customers, including one lady who bought vanilla coke and said her kids would think she was supermum today as vanilla coke taste "like heaven....like an angel had wee'd on your tongue!!!"
This had me chuckling for hours as who has ever had an angel pee on their tongue to determine thats what vanilla coke tastes like?!?!?!
Strange people out there, along with a gentleman who ate fish fingers dunked in custard............
Hmmmmmmm.........

Anyways on to a slightly more normal lunch of a packet of mixed leaves, feta cheese and tomatoes, a packet of french fries and a banana. I also managed to drink a litre of water as well :-)

Back out for another crazy couple of hours and another litre of water and it was off to my folks for tea.

I had a tesco light choices sweet chilli noodles and my veg unit was asparagus followed by an apple and a pix and mix tea bag (ive emptied a load of bags into my baby bag and its a lucky dip as to what i get!) I think it was spearmint and camomile!!

And im currently sitting in bed with my hot choc ;-) after catching up on Revolution and a very brief albeit heated phone call with hubby and his silly ship. Sometimes a military life bites, not just for me and our girly but for him too :-(

Has anybody else noticed that the galaxy choc bubbles hot choc crackles when you pour the water on?! Very odd, sounds like popping candy....mmmmmmm popping candy yum yum!!!

Anyways i digress

Have a lovely evening and il see you tomorrow for my final day of Fast Forward in an attempt at a maintain/low gain come friday after my easter scoffs

Night all xx

Double whammy!

Heehee i apologise for the lack of bloggage yesterday evening, as i spent the evening catching up watching Made In Chelsea...i know i know dire but true! I kinda like the lifestyle in a weird way but not the ponsyness, its a bit of a giggle none the less and i will shamefully be watching more tonight as im starting from series one again... so i thought id get the blog in in a oner whilst squirt is nattering to ducks in the bath and trying to put rings on her head!!! Totally my child lol ;-)

Anyways yesterdays day started with a bagel, cherry tomatoes and quark topping...im determined to have a good day on FF and i drink enough herbal tea i think to keep Twinnings in business for the next twenty years!

A quick trip to Asda to get lil lady a new peppa pig cup and plate with her birthday money as the others are old and well lets face it dont have a piggy on them...

Lunch time rolls round and i have reduced fat cheese, whole bread and make it into a lovely toasty. I add cheese and onion french fries, delish!

My snack later on was a crumpet and jam, will miss this back on plan as its just too many syns to have on a snack
;-(

Tea was prawn stirfry with a massive pile of mangetout, it had some noodles  pepper, onion, baby sweetcorn and brocoli in and cooked in a bit of soy sauce.

Pud was a bit of a treat in cherries and raspberrys with fromage frais and a hot choc, i also sadly had the rest of the choc fingers :-( boohoo! However now it means i have a spare point to use if i want but to be fair im pretty full most of the time now once im actually doing this properly and not eating stuff i shouldnt!

Today was weetabix, half a grapefruit and milk (on the weetabix not the grapefruit)

I then spent three hours and nearly 600 calories walking around town with the sis in law and my neice and nephews. Ive downloaded the endo something tracker which works alongside my fitness pal which ive also been recording all my food in and will continue to back on plan so i dont over eat!
Not too shoddy for a mornings work!

Lunch was wholemeal bread and beans with a plum as my satsuma have gone mouldy :-( and some french fries, again copius amounts of herbal teas.

Then the lovely crumpet and jam nommers....

Tea tonight is a jacket potato with cucumber, tomatoes, salad leaves and a squirt of balsamic dressing oh and brussell sprouts!! then i get to enjoy a hot choc, jelly pot and strawberries later! According to my fitlog altho this sounds like loads of food its actually under 1200 cals a day! Infact yesterday it told me i hadnt consumed enough calories! Good job this plan is only recommended for short times and under supervision!
Altho sw is not about the calorie counting at all, i have a serious tendancy to overeat so its something i will be looking at in the future....

Right time to get my wrinkly prune of a child out the bath and on to more trashy telly lol night all xx

Fat Sunday :-(

Its that time of the day again, another blog post by yours truely and to be honest im kind of pouting at myself today. I had such a good start to the day and all went downhill from about 4:30pm.

I shall start at the beginning!

So another lovely morning albeit a little fresher than yesterday!
We had a lay in til 8am, i definitely think the blankets at the windows are makinh squirt sleep better.
We get up and i make her bacon and toast and i tuck into wholemeal toast, jam and a banana with a lemon and green tea and a big glass of squash (fast forward followed to the T again) and as its a lovely day we decide to go for a walk to the beach and go play on the swings and slides at the park. She has great fun running up the steps, playing peekaboo and whooshing down the slides until you always get that one kid whos determined to play on the baby park even though they are 13! And later on he was followed by his dad, so we decided to play "catch you" all the way along the common back towards home instead. Catch you is basically running away from her and her screeching and laughing until she catches up with me, we have to play this where ever we go and around the flat before bath time! It can also include hiding behind trees! Anyways it was great fun and we were out a good two hours playing around. Hopefully a good bit of body magic there! And i glugged a litre of water whilst out as well.

Lunch time rolled round and i had chicken and water cress sarnies, lemon and green tea and another big glass of squash and then it was nap time for lil one while i enjoyed a long chat with hubby on the phone. Hes back on board again after a night off and out to sea this week ahead so il not hear much from him so it was nice to get a 40 minute call. ♥

Eventually lil miss woke up and she got to chat to daddy too, she keeps saying "daddy ship" everytime she talks to him or we go to the beach bless her, cant wait to take her to watch him come in in less than two weeks now!
Well i had to make her dinner and i deserve a big fat slap for nabbing a couple of chips and a nugget :-( bad bad zoe!
However while she tucked into fruit and a couple of munch bunch for pud i had my jam and crumpet and cup of raspberry tea. This sort of subsided the munchies temporarily.

However after realising i needed to take my heap of crud car for a spin as i hadnt used it today (otherwise it wouldnt start tomo as theres something wrong with it but noone can work out what!) My thoughts turned to tea and to be perfectly honest i just didnt want the miniscule chicken roast that was on the menu for tea tonight. I wanted comfort food and i wanted chips and beans! So i decided thats just what i was going to have along with a warburtons sandwich thin pizza (cheese and tomato puree) and ok so its not the most horrendos food i could have eaten but it was off the FF plan. However it went down so well and took away everything i was craving!

I shall be back on track again tomorrow i dont know what has got into me the last couple of weeks, i had my fantastic loss and then i seem hell bent on putting it all back on!
I need to learn to break this self destruct circle that i seem to have going on....why cant i be one of these determined and steadfast people who never deviate from their goals?! It annoys the hell out of me! Its all good in the theory of it, i know where i want to be and how to get there...i just dont do it and i cant understand why?! I once said to my hubby that i self destruct my diet because if i was thin then id have nothing else to do or focus on! Maybe theres some truth in that... stupid thing is i know i would be alot happier and healthier slimmer!

Well tomorrow is another day and i will endeveour to try again as trying is all i can do.

Xx

Happy saturday :-)

Hello everyone check me out two blogs in a row...il need to sit down lol.

Hope you have all been out enjoying the sunshine, it was lovely just to be able to crack my windows open and put some fresh air around in the flat today. And it was even better to have the sun streaming in through the windows as well! Makes for a happy me!

Well my day started off with a lay in...i didnt think putting a cover over squirts curtains would make a difference, or whether it was the fact she didnt nap yesterday and went to bed later but it bought me an extra hour in bed, this is always a winner in my eyes!

Day 2 (day one of serious FF)

So this morning i had a cup of lemon and green tea, along with a glass of sugar free sparkling fruit water and a bacon butty! Happy days indeed, although i did miss having some sweet chilli sauce and mushrooms in it, but it was very tasty!

After a long hot shower we decide to go to B & Q to go look at stuff i cant afford but would love...namely kitchens and wallpaper! But settle on some new paint for squirts room, although i cant do anything til hubbys home as he WILL be helping me and i need a wardrobe the size of Russia to be moved. Plus we need to order some decals and a new duvet and quilt. My baby room will no longer be a baby room but a little girls room...sob sob! Oh and we buy a lovely pic frame to put photos of her daddy in for when he goes on deployment in a few weeks.
This has been a very large thought in my head the last few days and its makin me sad and depressed already, so we are coming up with different ways to make the 41 odd weeks go a little quicker! Good thing is i can be 100% diet orientated and work my way to a goal for when hes back again! Worked a treat last deployment, lost 3.5st, new hair, new clothes, a really bad fake tan and he hardly recognised me it was hysterical! ;-)
We are challenging each other to a weight loss/inch loss competition so should be fun lol.

Anyways on to lunch...i think this will be a fave back on the other plan, i had cherry tomatoes, mini pitta, lettuce leaves and feta crumbled on, with a cheeky spray of balsamic low cal spray (like frylight only dressing light!) Cheese and onion french fries and another lemon and green tea and more sparkly water. Cue the mass toilet visits!

An afternoon of playing chase, tea partys, chatting to my hubby and friends soon meant it was tea time and tonight was...

Macaroni pasta, tomato sauce with courgette, mushrooms, pepper, garlic and a sprinkle of herbs. I had also saved my veg portion to go with it as well so had some very tasty asparagus alongside too. More fizzy water and toilet visits! Oh and i nibbled on a crumpet and jam while it cooked.

A few more chats with a very tired hubby and my poor friend whos pretending water is wine and dropping pizzas on the floor and its time for my bed! Im taking with me my hot choc, 2 choc fingers, a choc mousse and strawberries!

I had a couple of slip ups today and had about 6 almonds and stupidly without thinking, whilst breaking up a bit of easter egg for squirt, a small piece of egg jumped into my mouth, i really need to stop mindlessly picking! Its an attrocious habit ive gotten into and i need to kick it pronto! So its on my list of to do's tomorrow!

Right night all xx

Serious apologies required!!!

Happy friday everyone, firstly im sooo sorry that ive not blogged once this week, its been one of those weeks! My lil squirt has been really poorly and had a terrible cough and cold, she then lovingly passed it on to me, ive had funny heads again and it was squirts birthday yesterday along with work....just made for a really really quick week and i just didnt have the time!
I didnt even get to weigh in this morning as we were both still poorly and needed a lay in to help to get rid of the last bit of icky bugs and start a fresh!
Ive had a crappy week food wise too, between a few sneaky easter eggs and glugging cough medicine and not drinking enough i think it would have been a horrific out come anyways!
Still it was very strange not going to my lovely little group this morning and it totally threw out my day and it doesnt feel like a friday...funny how one little blip in the old routine changes things completely!

Anyways i figured that as im 103% sure it was a gain (even though i wasnt brave enough to get on my home scales!) I decided to give fast forward another go this week in a bid to knock off what i gained and maybe offer me a maintain for friday if im really lucky and then i can work towards those last two pounds to get my long long long long awaited 3st award!

Sooooo on to the sort of food diary...its a bit of a new one for me being semi (all will become clear...) on plan for a friday as usually its treat day or takeaway night.  Serious fast forward will start officially tomorrow!
But i started my morning of with half a grapefruit, weetabix and milk, i kept back some of the milk for a cheeky coffee as i know im going to end up going through the caffine shakes again lol i really must cut down the amount of coffee i drink its awful!
We popped to my sis in laws to go pick up squirts birthday prezzys from her, being a good girl i had a herbal tea, a raspberry one i think...im living life on the wild side as ive emptied a load of teabags of all different flavours in to my baby bag! Now its a lucky dip as to what tea i get...

Now i was supposed to have whole meal bread and reduced fat cheese for lunch but as i hadnt got any in as id not been shoppin the sis decided to be very kind and made her first ever cheese on toast but was with white bread and normal cheese...a token effort on my part but it was seriously good!!! Hence only semi on plan.

Then came the arduous task of shopping, for once though my local tesco did have everything i wanted...miracles do happen once in a while! And once home and unpacked i enjoyed a crumpet and jam (serious perks of FF is some of the fab food they allow you to have!!)

I then made a lovely prawn stirfry and noodles for tea and used my veg unit with my tea to bulk it up a bit more and it was lovely! Im also drinking sparkling fizzy sugar free water today and have had two bottles, but i will try and drink more water from tomorrow as well.

Pudding will be a lovely bowl of raspberries and fromage frais, cashew nuts, hot choc and 2 choccy fingers.

Ive decided to swap my funsize choc bars for nuts, i think the choccy bars were the start of a serious choc addiction this week! Considering im usually a savoury girl favouring crisps over chocolate any day, i was seriously craving chocolate all the time!!!! It was a really bad downward spiral.
Fingers crossed though that the nuts will be better and with healthier benefits other than the fact they taste good! I still have that little choccy fix from the hot choc and choc fingers

Well i promise to blog all week from now and no more slacking..thanks for sticking by me and dont forget i have my fb page too Slimming World Style so come by and give me a kick up the backside!!! :-)

Happy Saturday :-)

Hello everyone!

So ive had a really nice day today, ive spent most of it mooching around shops with my friend Vicky and her little man. Found some bits and bobs for squirts birthday and had a lovely lunch out in Wetherspoons. The weathers not been too bad so we managed to walk into town and not worry about getting rained on which is always a winner!

So this morning was a lovely early wake up call of 6:45am yaaaaawn! I really didnt want to get out of bed so i grabbed squirt and her beloved peppa pig dvd and snuggled down under my duvet back in bed again for another hour or so... happy days!
But then the tummy rumbles kicked in in both our stomachs so breakfast was on order.

I soaked 35g of Jordans NAS muesli in rhubarb and strawberry yogurt and sliced up a finest grapefruit. Now yesterday i seriously begrudged having to pay £1.50 for two grapefruits as there was none of the red grapefruits...however i take it back as it was utterly gorgeous, not sour at all and seriously juicey, so i would purchase again with no qualms! I also had a big fat glass of nas squash alongside it as well.

After a lovely long hot shower it was time to get ready for town, after walking round the shops, nattering and putting the world to rights we decided it was lunchtime and headed to our local whetherspoons...happy days as there are sw friendly dishes there!
I settle for a diet pepsi and the sweet chilli noodles for one syn, and my goodness they are full of chilli!!! Hot hot hot!!! However a couple of chips may have found my mouth so im going to add on 2 syns for them as well.
Now i stopped at the market for some tomatoes for breakfast tomorrow and the silly bloke decided to pour them into a brown bag...and put in a carrier bag with my pineapple...take a guess at how many tomatoes survived the journey home?! About half the tomatoes turned into tomato soup in the bottom of the bag, its a good job they were only 50p!!!
Back home for a cuppa and its time to prep for dinner!

Tonight im very excited about tea as im making the first (of many!) recipes from my kindly loaned Taste of Asia book...Kung Pao chicken, all i have to say is its devine!!! I served it with some fine egg noodles and a pak choi.
I even did the really good thing of portioning it out (rather than eating the entire pan!) So i have three more delicious meals of this coming up as well...oh happy days!!!

I also enjoyed a slice of seeded sensation bread which is devine and its so lovely being able to have proper bread even if its synned at 6 syns per slice.

Im having a tesco healthy living chocolate mousse and some mango for my pudding a bit later.

HEA - 350ml skimmed milk
HEB - 35g Jordan Muesli

SUPERFREE
grapefruit
Peppers
Pak choi
Water chesnuts

Baby sweetcorn

Weigh in day and fast forward results....

Hello!!!!

Well its friday and i had my weigh in this morning
I was there nice and early mainly because i wanted to get rid of the butterflies dancing around in my belly, i was beginning to feel slightly sick with nerves!
So i toddle up to the scales with some trepidation, close my eyes til i hear that beep, look down and.......

SIX AND A HALF POUNDS OFF!!!!!

my biggest EVER  loss!!!

Im so happy that i do a little jig! I then dont tell my consultant what ive lost so she can have a nice surprise a bit later in image therapy! :-D

Im so so so so happy with everything ive achieved this week:

- my ability to stick with the plan even when temptation was right under my nose.

- realisation of where i have been going wrong the last few months in my portion control, big may work for some but my body prefers little and often which im fine with.

- that i have fantastic support around me both in and out of group. (I sort of already knew this though!)

- i have a lot more determination than i give myself credit for, other times i would have given up when times got tough but not this time.

Its been a really good day and i have a battle plan now for the rest of my journey.

Im 40lbs down and 67lbs to go, and only 2lbs away from my elusive 3st shiney, which i want before my hubby comes home in 20 odd days, hopefully a slightly easier ask than before now i know my strategy for moving forward and downwards!

So after my happy start to the day despite missing a call yet again from my hubby, i settle down once at home to a cheese toasty, hot cross bun and my easter duck (getting all my easter stuff out the way so i have more time to work full steam on plan!) and my new sw magazine and a loan copy of the taste of asia book, for some cooking inspiration and to write my shopping list for later.

Once squirts up from her nap we head to tesco...big mistake, anyone would think that the world was ending, not that the shops were shut for just once measly day...how the hell must we have coped when all the shops were shut on a sunday...?!?! Oh thats right we used the other six days of the week to shop for stuff! I come out seriously stressed, peed off i cant get half the things i wanted, the shop looked like it had been attacked, there was hardly anything on produce, the queues were rediculous and to top it off when i came out some ass had run a trolley into the front bumper of my car! Grrrrrr!

Anyways once i finally got back to normality and the safety of my home i unpacked what little shopping i had and sat down for a coffee!

Tea tonight was warburtons sandwich thin pizzas, chips and beans. Already im noticing little changes as i would usually have had the wraps for 8 syns as they were bigger but actually the much smaller 5 and a half syns (i think) were just as filling, the small can of beans was just as good as a whole large can and 3 small potatoes for chips were much better sized than the 6 i would have used! See all positive changes!

I will be back on the usual sw plan tomorrow and will therefore be diary-ing it up properly along with my pic collage too!
But tonight i leave you with my fridge plaque and im off for a brew and to continue my mag and recipe book reading :-)

Night all ♥ xx

Oh so unbeliveably tired :-(

Hi everyone, today im writing to you absolutely shattered, squirt had night terrors last night, while we were stayin over the folks, so in a bid to not wake the entire household, including two members that were both on early turns, i decided that as she wouldnt go back in her cot without screaming, that she could come kip in with me. Oh what a mistake!
Finally at 2:45am she fell asleep, me however did not, she fidgets so much in her sleep i was being hit, elbowed, kicked and rolled on! Im not entirely sure i actually went back to sleep at all, then she was back up at 6am again when she heard people getting ready for work.
This made work for me incredibly long and i was so tired im pretty sure i was on another planet!

Anywho, for brekky i had my nommy proper bagel, quark and cherry tomatoes and a very naughty coffee...i really really needed it!
I obviously sensed i would need fuelling for the morning as it was super super busy, anyone would think the apocolypse was coming not just easter!

I was so happy when lunchtime finally rolled round, i had drunk a litre of water while on my checkout, but things were so busy still i couldnt get my salad leaves for my lunch otherwise i would have spent half an hour queueing! So it was just a mini pitta bread, cherry tomatoes, my french fries crisps and a packet of green beans (i ate them today!)
I was hoping that when i went back out that things would have eased off a bit but nooooo!
Finally the end of my shift drew near with another litre of water under my belt, hometime woooopiiieeee!!

After getting squirt to bed for hopefully a fuller night sleep than last night, i shoved on another cheeky ready meal under my allowed calories...tonights joyful meal was sweet chilli chicken and noodles, this time courtesy of tesco healthy living range. Better than the weight watchers one last night but not great! I honestly have no idea how people live off these things permanently, bring on the fresh cooked slimming world food again!

I have some strawberries, a hot choc and fun size choccy bar ready for my gorgeous, heavenly, amazing bed in the not so distant future

Tomorrow is weigh in day and to be perfectly honest im absolutely bricking it, if i have done all this and resisted so many things that have been wofted under my nose and i dont lose or only lose half a pound, i will be absolutely devestated, so please wish me good luck ♣

Night all xx

Come see how i got on and come like my fb page "slimming world style" x
